I have a VPN network spanning three households, all connected via a Fritz!VPN network. If I install the TeddyCloud in one household, will the Tonieboxes connect even if they’re in the other households? Or can I enter the TeddyCloud’s IP address in the firmware? This way, the Toniebox would search for the TeddyCloud directly using its IP address instead of on the LAN. Then the connection should work over the VPN, right?
Both Tonieboxes have the CC3200.
Should work. If the other households can reach your teddycloud instance with the same ip, then it will work.
Can I enter the Teddycloud’s IP address into the Toniebox? The Teddycloud is running in household A with the IP range 192.168.5.0. If I’m in household B with the IP range 192.168.6.0, shouldn’t the Toniebox know that the server is located in the IP range 192.168.5.0?
Didn’t you do that while setting up the teddycloud with DNS for your fritz.box https://tonies-wiki.revvox.de/docs/tools/teddycloud/setup/dns/cc3200/#fritzbox ?
Instead of the fritz.box patch it should be possible to use the altUrl.305.json to let the box know where to find the cloud.
Depends on your Network Setting. If you can reach devices in the other Subjekt everything is fine, if not, you have to adapt your networksetting.
