I converted the three Toniebox models (ESP32, CC3200, CC3225?) to use Li-ion batteries. All boxes are working normally, with the charging tone and low battery notification.
The battery life is 4-5 times longer than the original.
The mod is very complex for beginners; only attempt it if you know what you’re doing.

All you need is a TP4056 charging module, nothing else.
