Add a new tonybox to teddycloud

I use the Teddycloud since a while with a tonybox I had flashed.
It works good.

After an update of the teddycloud I found settings about lock auto add a new tonybox to teddycloud.

Does that mean, there is a more easy way to add a tonybox to my teddycloud than having to flash it?

The minimum approach in order to get a new Toniebox to connect to your Teddycloud is exchanging the CA certificate on the Toniebox (or in case of CC3200, add it in addition to the original one). Each Toniebox has to use the CA certificate of your Teddycloud - otherwise the (https) communication is not possible. And to achieve this you absolutely have to flash each box.

Do you mean the “Allow new boxes” switch? It’s a security feature. Should be turned off most of the time except you want to explicitly add a new Box (that has been flashed before).

I had hopes, Flashing a box is so anoying.
If I reset a box (add charger, turn and pinch both ears) do certificate also reset?
There is a plan to give tonyboxes to other with childs or sell it on local baby Whatsapp groups.

No, the certificates won‘t change when resetting the Box. You have to reflash the original firmware.

could I copy the ca from another tonybox?
If only the ca changed I assume such should be possible.

I read in the roadmap that firmware updates are planed. Is planned that such a Firmwareupdate could do flash either with a local or rhe stock ca?
