Hi all,
I made the general dumbest mistake that we all know is unforgivable. I setup TeddyCloud on proxmox via Portainer. Everything was working great until it wasn’t. The Proxmox NVmeSSD (no raid) decided to find the end of its life and I was unable to access any data off that disk.
Technically speaking no big deal because I have a OpenNAS setup to backup all my VMs. But there is a slight issue, I learned the hard way that 1. I did not trigger a manual backup nor did 2. a auto backup start yet.
I am now unable to establish a toniecloud connection (obviously) since the certs are no longer in the teddycloud. Is there any way to maybe get hands on those certs again another way ?
I still have all the original data from the SD Card prior flashing from both Tonieboxes. Are the certs maybe in that data set? You may think now, I should have saved the certs and images on the Laptop.
Yes in fact I did. but besides the ssd on the proxmox server did I also encounter a windows corruption the same day after an unfortunate windows update, which caused me to restore from a known old functional windows point. What can I say, that did screw me because with that restore were all certs backups gone as well. I attempted to use recovery tool for deleted files but was unable to recover those files.
Now my main goal is to primary use teddycloud but sometimes it may still need a actual cloud connection (never know).
I assume those certs are MAC Address bound or would another Cert set work from a new Toniebox for all tonieboxes currently in use?
Thanks in advance. I understand that I maybe completely unable to recover from this. Unless there is a way to flash the toniebox with another image from a new box? Any chances of getting it back to it’s full glory?
