I’m curious, how are you handling multiple episodes of a series? E.g. having 5 episodes of Bee Maja which your kid likes to listen to. I have one Custom-Maja-Tonie, but that means I have to switch each episode everytime on the teddycloud webinterface (guess that is the same for original tonies/toniecloud). The kids “autonomy” is lost. When they want to listen to “that special episode”, they have to ask me.
How do you handle that? Does it annoy your kids? Do you make a tonie for each episode?
You can simply upload the episodes together via the encoder – it will then automatically combine them into a .taf file, which you can then assign to your Tonie. For each uploaded file, it creates a separate chapter within the .taf file.
You can pack up to 12 hours and/or 99 tracks into one file.
I’m currently doing this with Pettersson and Findus, for example. Each episode is a title, so she can click through to the one she wants to hear – about 26 episodes in total and just under 7 hours.
You may need to combine the individual episodes into one file beforehand so there aren’t too many tracks. I use mp3directcut for this and simply save them together as a new file.
For longer audiobooks with multiple parts, I create a separate Tonie for each episode, as they are already divided into many tracks and you would otherwise have to fast-forward so much.
Apart from that, I’d also be sorry to lose the beautiful covers, as they’re going on my custom Tonies
That’s one of the main reasons I set up the Teddy Cloud in the first place. Firstly, the constant change of episodes, and secondly, the limitation of the Creative Tonies to only 90 minutes. She’s already listening to a lot of audiobooks, the longest of which is around 6 hours. I’ve had that on four Creative Tonies so far…
