My idea behind this post
My oldest kid is just turning 2 and doesn’t really listen to Tonies. Still I got myself some tags from RFIDfriend and some selfmade SLIX-L tags from Robert. I don’t know when I will get the time to really make some figurines the next weeks, so I want to share some of my ideas.
First up a „quick and dirty“ one:
1. Sound plushies
We have a duck plushie with a soind box inside that quacks when pressed.
Often these render themselves useless as soon as the batterie dies. Also the battery could leak and I wouldn’t want my kid playing with alcaline contaminated toys.
So I switched the sound box with a magnet and a RFID tag.
Some plushies have velcro openings, some would have to be cut open.
I have the little ugly duckling on the tag for now, but you could just assign animal sounds again e.g.
2. The Travel Tonie Figurines
I plan on using the flat tags for travel tonies, but I just don’t think my kids would be so into the coin holder type ones.
Different would be travel tonies as little books, just a little bigger than the size of the tags.
You could put magnets onto both sides of the books, so that several books could click together. The front and back can be painted on or labled on with a picture of the story or of the original tonie.
(Sorry for the bad drawing)
As a transportation case I want to make a small shelf, in which these mini books can be stored and also played with dollhouse-like.
This would be perfect for 3d printers.
For me, I plan on sculpting one out of polymer clay and making a mold for resin casting.
3. Cassettes
As I grew up listening to cassettes, I thought it would be fund to create some cassette models (or empty old cassettes) for my kids to listen to.
We still have some „Benjamin Blümchen“, „Heidi“, and so on.
miscellaneous
We still have a lot of „Marvi Hämmer“ CD‘s from National Geographic World. I always loved these stories and plan on making a small rat figurine with these stories assigned to.
Feel free to add ideas. I love to see these!
