Just green light

Hi,

i installed everthing like described on my teddycloud instance.
dont know if i made something wrong during the process but after installing everything and repowering the box of the led just turns green, no sound no nothing. also the toniebox cant be fouind in the router.

i installed bootloader like described - without errors

moved and renamed ExtractedFromBox/sys/mcuimg.bin to the sdcard:/revvox/boot/ng-ofw1.bin

downloaded c2.der and renamed to ca.der and installed via
cc3200tool -p COM3 write_file ca.der /cert/c2.der

no patches.

does anybody have any hints?

It seems that the box doesn’t boot.

Please be detailed, give more information. Saying you did everything alright won’t help-

How can i debug?
Is there documentation on how to go back to the backed up original version to check if box isn’t broken?

Does your Toniebox flash 3 times at the beginning until the green LED lights up permanently or does it go on and stay on at the beginning?

No sound could also indicate a defective SD card.

Perhaps repeat everything again, step by step.

so what i did:
1.

cc3200tool -p COM3 write_file ExtractedFromBox/sys/mcuimg.bin /sys/pre-img.bin
cc3200tool -p COM3 write_file flash/sys/mcuimg.bin /sys/mcuimg.bin

moving mcuimg.bin to the first ofw slot sd:/revvox/boot/ng-ofw1.bin

download c2.der and install with

cc3200tool -p COM3 write_file c2.der /cert/c2.der

no patches, nothing else applied.
reboot.

still just turn greens.
no blinking, no nothing.

So:
you did no backups?
you did not copy something to the microSD
you did not changed the default slot for the bootloader?

Did you read the output of the commands? Were those commands successful? If not, flash the custom bootloader again.

You are still not detailed!

that was the response to marstrg.
that was in fact the 2nd and 3rd attempt.
so sdcard still has the revvox folder with all its content.
and backup is still on the pc.

to make sure there is no hardware defect…
is there a tutorial howto go back to factorysettings?

i used command
write_falsh to flash the backup back on the toniebox.

cc3200tool -p COM3 write_flash backup.bin

unplugged from pc
unplugged battery, replugged battery. stoll just green.
no sound, no blinking.

is guess i bricked the box

now trying this:

did everthing like mentioned here:

every command went through except copying the signatures from the TI servicepack.
cc3200tool says:

2025-03-03 09:44:00,683 -- Uploading file ota_1.0.1.13-2.11.0.1.ucf -> /sys/servicepack.ucf [34348, disk=68696]...

You didn’t copy the signatures, you copied the service pack.
The error is fine, as the file cannot be read, because its a special file.

okay thanks!
so i guess i give up and try to find a esp32 version used or a cheap new one

But ask carefully. My last two used Tonieboxes, where apparently only a small thing didn’t work, turned out on arrival and examination that the circuit boards had already been soldered and various repairs had been attempted. So unfortunately only the spare parts stock was expanded
