New Toniebox 2 - Any insights yet?

I’m very sorry for the Off-topic, but I’m not yet allowed to create new topics.

I am very new to the toniebox universe and just saw that there’s a new toniebox to be released (I guess it will be v5?). I have not found anything in this forum about it.

Toniebox 2 – Screen-free Audio Player for Kids 1+

It looks very cool with a lot of new functionalities (and USB C!!), but since it’s still in a pre-sale phase we don’t have any information about what’s underneath?

I guess eventually it will be possible to hack it too, but I’m not sure if I should just get the v4. Anybody has any info about this?

It’s too new yet. There are first images of the pcb in the telegram group, but yet no further insights. You have to be patient :wink:

And as it’s a complete new model, I do not think speaking of v5 is the right wording. But this is only my personal opinion.

How do you open it without breaking it? Sadly it doesn’t have a neat little screw like the original.

It is opened the same way the original is.

Remove the Cap by twisting, remove the screws, remove the inlay

Strange.. I tried twisting it, when it arrived and it just wouldn’t work. Now I tried it again and it worked.. but thanks anyway for the hint.

I see it has the same “connector” as the CC3200 one. But twice. I wonder what that’s about. Sadly, I don’t really have any knowledge to “debug” the box, but I’m definitely interested on any new insights :slight_smile:

any updates about the usability of Teddycloud with the Toniebox 2? Couldn’t find anything, which is usually not a good sign.
