it seems my sd-card reader broke my sd-card before I could make an backup of it. That’s the actually reason why I used the sd-card reader in the first place. 
Is there some way to still use the toniebox, with a new sd-card (maybe copy /clone from another toniebox?) or is it completly bricked unless i have the content of that exact sd-card?
Tonebox is a CC3200 by the way.
My ESP box simply pulled the system files onto the empty (new) card, no data from the old card necessary. Test whether it does this - format it to FAT32, insert it and then simply switch on the box.

It is best to check the Wiki beforehand to see which cards are compatible - the CC3200 is probably quite bitchy in contrast to the ESP.
In the CC3200? Then that might be something for the wiki.
No, in a box with an esp32.
So far, all SD cards seem to work for the ESP, at least I haven’t found any information about non-functioning ones.
It’s a different story with the CC3200, where various cards don’t seem to work. So it’s best to stick to the list in the Wiki, which lists compatible cards for the CC.
